ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Amelia Ouwerkerk, and I am a photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. My passion for photography started when I was just a little kid using a simple point-and-shoot and then a little digital camera running around the farm taking photos of anything I could find. Those first few photos weren’t much to look at but they ignited a spark in me that has burned bright ever since. When I was just 16 years old, after receiving my first real camera as a gift from my father, a Canon DSLR and from that point onward I was hooked.
Growing up on a rural property in northeast Victoria, I was surrounded by stunning landscapes that inspired me to capture the beauty of the world around me. I quickly fell in love with being able to freeze a moment in time and create a lasting memory that can be treasured forever.
While I loved my upbringing, I am glad to live in Melbourne. This vibrant city provides endless opportunities for me to explore my passion for photography and connect with other creatives. My photography style is focused on capturing authentic moments and emotions, creating an elevated feminine quality in my work.
